Systems Manager

Would you like to work with The Business Systems team supporting the Land (UK) business in the delivery and support of a range of Business applications? We currently have a vacancy for a Systems Manager at one of our main facilities in Radway, Telford, Washingon, Glascoed.

As a Systems Manager, you will be involved in system upgrades, introduction of new functionality including the latest digital technologies and supporting the introduction of a smart factory. It will also involve incident resolution, licence management, managing support contracts, key user support, supporting business adoption and identifying opportunities for solution re-use. There will be a requirement to be able to cover multiple application areas covered by the business systems team with knowledge of IT within a connected manufacturing environment being an advantage.

This role will provide you with a variety of opportunities, working on various projects. With the opportunity to look at new technologies within the sector.


Your main responsibilities as a Systems Manager will involve:

Supporting in the delivery of major application change, large system upgrades and introduction of new capability

Delivering of new functionality including the documenting of requirements, design reviews, test management, implementation and benefits realisation

Ensuring appropriate documentation of applications, procedures and work instructions exist.

Responding to non-fault incident calls where the Key User has been unable to satisfy the request.

Reviewing small change requests for validity/ feasibility and support their progression through the relevant process

Supporting DXC and other third parties with incident resolution

Supporting application access management including ensuring meeting compliance

Promoting the sharing of best practice and solution re-use across Land UK & Weapons (and wider where appropriate)

Creating and maintaining application training material where required

Providing expert support to Key users and lead Key User groups

Identifying improvement opportunities in both application and process

Communicating planned changes to affected parties

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills

Experience in PDM, specifically in the use of SAP & Teamcenter.

Basic understanding of other SAP modules or ability to learn new areas quickly

Previous project delivery, change management and testing experience

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of Mass updates toolsets

Knowledge of latest technologies and future trend

Previous experience of training delivery

Previous experience of a connected Manufacturing environment

You will have the ability to engage and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including end users and third parties. You will have the ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly. You will have the ability to evaluate issues and identify potential solutions, you will also have a desire to learn and implement new technologies.

Location: one of our main facilities in Radway, Telford, Washingon, Glascoed

Salary: £36,000 DEO
