Quality Assurance Manager - Combat Systems

Would you like to play a key role in in supporting the Quality provision for our Combat Systems programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Assurance Manager at our site in Filton.

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will engage with multiple stakeholders to understand quality risks, issues and opportunities across the Type-26 Combat Systems Delivery Team (T26 CSDT), including the supply chain, then set the direction for quality assurance activities and ensure successful delivery through managing a small team of professional quality engineers.

This role will provide you with the chance to work within a constantly evolving and interesting area of our business. This will be a highly visible and impactful role and offers good long term career development prospects.

Your main responsibilities as a Quality Assurance Manager:

Engagement with the Type 26 combat systems management team and individual delivery teams to ensure clear and shared understanding of quality issues, risks and opportunities.

Develop and ensure delivery of quality plans for the programme that address the issues, risks and opportunities, including , ensuring effective application of the Business Management System to T26 CSDT through planning, auditing and continual improvement.

Developing and implementing plans, processes, templates and tools necessary to assure and ensure quality delivery.

Developing and delivering quality engagement plans with suppliers to provide assurances of quality from the supply chain, including supplier audits.

Identifying root causes of quality issues and ensure effective corrective actions are identified, implemented and managed to prevent recurrence.

Ensuring own team adopt, adhere to and, where practicable, improve processes for own team's work.

Representing the quality team on Whole-Ship Quality bodies.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Extensive previous experience in a similar quality assurance position

Experienced ISO 9001 Auditor with the relevant certification

Previous experience in a management or supervisory role

Desirable

Ideally will have experience in Defence, Oil & Gas or Aerospace industries
