Software Security Test Engineer

Would you like to play a key support role within Software Security? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Security Test Engineer at our site in New Malden (occasional travel may be required).

As a Software Security Test Engineer, you will develop and perform a range of software tests as part of the Software Security team contributing to a number of Combat System Equipment programmes for Naval Ships. The programmes cover a number of ships (e.g. T23, T45, QE, T26) and a variety of equipment (CMS, Gun Control, EO Control, Shared Infrastructure etc.).

This role will provide you with the opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of complex, networked systems designed, developed & maintained across extended programme lifecycles.

Your main responsibilities as a Software Security Test Engineer will involve:

Running system tests on later iterations of the relevant Combat system Equipment

Reporting on test outcomes and assisting in identifying system issues

Adapting pre-existing system test documentation to cater for evolution in the underlying equipment design

Developing new system test documentation for new system development and in support of more significant underlying system change

Incorporating changes to relevant documentation as required through the peer review process. Maintaining configuration control of the test artefacts through the review process

Fully contribute to process improvement within the team to help drive improvements to the validation & verification process

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Considerable experience developing and running System Tests for large complex systems

Able to produce clear and concise written technical documentation

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Good presentation skills

Desirable

ISTQB Foundation in Software Testing

Experience of Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft Server OS and Virtualisation

Degree qualified or equivalent, in a technology, engineering or science related discipline
