Principal Engineer - Systems (Integration Support)

Would you like to play a key role in our integration systems department that is a key part of the dreadnought programme and is responsible for the delivery of the overall integration of key complex electronic systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer - Systems (Integration Support) at our site in Barrow.

As a Principal Engineer - Systems (Integration Support), you will be part of the facilities integration leg of the integration team, that responsible for the integration strategies and opportunities throughout a number of dreadnought facilities and you will be roughly working with around 22/23 staff operating at differing levels.

This role will provide you with working with our integrated systems group which is a newly formed organisation within dreadnought, this is a great opportunity for growth and self-definition of the role itself, ability to influence and impact on the overall strategy. A hands on role rather than just office based, working with equipment and will get visibility of development of said systems. Very complex system so a technical challenge is involved.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer - Systems (Integration Support) will involve:

Looking to develop an understanding of all test facilities that contribute to the complex electronic systems integration

Identify opportunities to take advantage of facilities or expertise to improve the integrations of systems

Generation and maintenance of the overall facilities strategy document

Work with the integrated systems team to support the overall integrated systems strategy.

Work with integrations facilities to derive and agreed, elicit facility requirements based on integration strategies

Your skills and qualifications:

Degree in Electronic, Systems, Electrical, Computer Science discipline

Proven experience within Defence , Oil and gas, avionics

Stakeholder management skills communications

MS Office

Desirables:

Test and acceptance, integration validation hardware and software,

Desirable SAP knowledge

Chartered or working towards Chartered status - beneficial
