Would you like to work in an exciting and critical role within Submarine Solutions? We currently have a vacancy for a Project leader - Electrical C&I at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.

As a Project leader - Electrical C&I, you will be responsible for innovative design solutions for a variety of distributed control systems, as well as engaging with suppliers and industry, in order to manage the complex network of dependent systems.

This role will give you the opportunity to work on one of the most complex engineering programmes ever undertaken in the country, which will deliver a product of national importance.

As a Project leader - Electrical C&I, your main responsibilities will include:

Interfacing with systems owners and industry suppliers, ensuring the accurate flow of technical information

Applying your deep knowledge of design on distributed control systems, ensuring the delivery of engineering solutions within the programme

Ensuring the distributed control systems interface with the submarine control systems correctly and effectively

Reporting on design and adherence to customer requirements to senior management, and innovating and driving delivery within the engineering team

Carrying out system design, equipment specification, safety justification, equipment qualification, and testing

As a Project leader - Electrical C&I, your skills and qualifications must include:

Essential

BEng, Degree qualified within an Engineering discipline or equivalent in relevant field

Chartered or working towards Chartership

Demonstrable experience complex systems including submarine, Marine, Nuclear, Defence or Instrumentation and/ or control system design or manufacture and control processes

Desirable

ILM 2 / 3, PRINCE 2 or equivalent

An understanding of instrumentation and control system theory

An understanding of electrical circuits design, EMC precautions and power supply characteristics

Understanding of Safety Integrity Levels and BS EN 61508 or 61511
