Flight Systems Architect - UK and International

An amazing opportunity exists to work for BAE Electronic Systems in the role of Flight Systems Architect based in the UK or on International Assignment.

As a Flight Systems Architect you will be responsible for leading the preliminary design of complex flight systems. Your duties will include but not be limited too;

  • Setting the context for the design and leading high level design decision making
  • Gathering technical and business requirements and clearly communicating them
  • Creating functional and physical design architectures
  • Leading modelling, analysis and trades to ensure the architecture is appropriate
  • Documenting and presenting architectures and cost trades to stakeholders
  • Assisting in generating product road maps for future business
Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills
  • High levels of experience in the systems engineering domain
  • Experience in flight control system design
  • Familiarity with aerospace development/certification regime
  • Ability to communicate with large design teams, customers and business leaders
  • Experience of model based design
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
    Desirable skills
  • Have achieved Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience of working with end-users and customers
  • Software Development
  • Electronic hardware development
  • Mechanical systems and Actuation

  • You will have extensive problem solving skills and the ability to look at the bigger picture and build consensus with disparate groups.
  • The role requires an experienced candidate with the ability to work within a multi-cultural collaborative environment Internationally
  • Location: Rochester & International

    Please note for International roles initial training will be based in Rochester (UK)

    Grade: 10

    Salary: £50000 to £60000
