WHAT TO EXPECT

Jaguar Land Rover have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Electric Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) team. The PTME team is developing to support future electrification developments in support of the Jaguar Land Rover range of vehicles and you’ll be heavily involved with developing new, technologically advanced electric propulsion systems, for our current and future model lines.

As a key part of the Assembly & Test, Electric Powertrain team you’ll work collaboratively with Product Development Engineers, Facility vendors and Suppliers to ensure that component and whole propulsion designs meet world class quality and efficiency standards. Leading a team of Process Engineers you’ll be responsible for the planning and implementation of new and major changes to Electric Drive Unit (EDU) assembly and test facilities.

As the Senior Process Engineer you’ll be responsible for

  • Providing feasibility statements for product development designs
  • Robust process planning including build simulations and FMEA’s and supporting virtual build events and physical build workshops
  • Supporting the assembly process strategy
  • Application of Lean manufacturing and design for assembly principles and achieving cost targets for each project

Due to the nature of the role there will also be the potential for some European and Overseas travel.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Applications are welcomed from individuals who have demonstrable experience and an in depth understanding of Powertrain Assembly to include Internal Combustion Engines, Transmission, EDU and / or E-Motor. You’ll have the ability to effectively lead a team to achieve results by meeting deliverables whilst supporting projects from early concepts to launch at the Jaguar Land Rover sites.

An awareness of Process Authoring Tool (GSPAS) would be ideal as would an understanding of simulation and virtual toolsets i.e. Digital-buck, Process Simulate, CATIA V5 and Byteworx’s. You’ll have experience of GDPS and LQOS deliverables and timing, coupled with knowledge of facility installation, commissioning and product launch.

Ideally you’ll be educated to Degree level in Manufacturing Systems or a similar Engineering discipline. Although candidates with an HNC / HND and relevant experience will also be considered.
