WHAT TO EXPECT

With your in-depth knowledge and experience of developing and implementing test processes for Electrification propulsion systems, you’ll join our Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) department as a Senior Test Engineer. The department are responsible for the development and introduction of new and modified processes and facilities associated with new model introductions and model year changes, within Test to enable future electrification developments in support of the Jaguar Land Rover range of vehicles. You will be a key part of the Test team, working closely with Product Development Engineers, Facility vendors and Suppliers to ensure that components and whole propulsion designs meet world class quality and efficiency standards.

You’ll utilise your knowledge to develop and implement test processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.  These facilities include all end of line test types for Electrification propulsion systems, such as Battery pack charge/discharge, Battery Management system interfaces, Electrical testing for E motors, including but not limited to Back EMF, surge tests, winding testing, Rig/Dyno Test and NVH testing for drive units. You’ll also have the responsibility to work in a team of Engineers and be accountable for all tasks associated with the planning and implementation of new and major changes to test facilities and to ensure a first class service to our customer base.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED    

You’ll have experience within the automotive industry working on electric propulsion systems or be able to clearly demonstrate transferable skills, coupled with the knowledge in the management of Dyno test cells, and test rigs. Ideally, educated to Degree level in Manufacturing Systems or a similar engineering discipline. Candidates with HNC / HND and the relevant experience would be considered.

You’ll be proficient with use of PC Systems & Packages, and have awareness of Process Authoring Tool (GSPAS), simulation and virtual toolsets i.e. Digital-buck, Process Simulate and CATIA V5 and Byteworx’s. You’ll have good experience and understanding of testing protocols with an ability to analyse and interpret data output from test. You’ll be a strong communicator, both written & verbally and have the confidence to present your information in front of groups of people, including Senior Management.

You’ll be an effective leader with the ability of coordinating large groups of people through complex processes in a fast paced and demanding environment, and the ability to implement change effectively and ensure efficient running of the operation with the ability to use planning and timing tools to deliver on-going projects across national and international Jaguar Land Rover site.
