Production Technician (Wire Person)

 

Would you like a chance to work in a state of the art electronics environment on both civil and military platforms? We currently have a number of vacancies for Production Technicians (Wire Person) at our site in Rochester.

 

As a Production Technician (Wire Person), you will be part of an integrated manufacturing/repair team to build, wire and or inspect assembly's or sub assembly's using our Manufacturing Execution System (MES). If repairing you may be using a paperwork pack, the job purpose being to complete each operation, whether using paperwork or electronic aids, to set or estimated target times ensuring the standard of quality is also met.

 

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on state of the art equipment including the F35 product as well as the chance to migrate into some of the other technician disciplines to get a wider understanding of both the product functionality and the business unit as a whole.

 

 

Your main responsibilities as a Production Technician (Wire Person) will involve:

 

  • Wiring/soldering and assembling main and sub-assemblies
  • Undertaking inspection or test where trained and requested to do so
  • Working strictly to our MES electronic work instructions against the IPC standard, also following any additional policies/procedures are key as this helps to achieve the standard required
  • Ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained to keep areas FOD free. Clean as you go and end of shift/day tidying will be your responsibility
  • Maintaining accurate written and electronic records
  • Using our IT tools within a Windows environment
  • Willingness to work one of our shift patterns

 

 

Your skills and qualifications:

 

  • Experience of wiring and soldering to a high standard (such as, IPC standard)
  • Experience with the defence, aerospace or electronics industry
  • Solid IT skills

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as being very thorough and detailed. You will be hard working with a can do attitude. You will also be able to work collaboratively with others, building positive relationships and working responsibly.

 

 

Location: Rochester

 

Salary: £24,000+ (night shift/ twilight shift/ rotating shift patterns also available with significant uplifts)
