Would you like to provide support to the design verification of various auxiliary systems for the T26 frigate? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer Auxiliary Systems at our site in Scotstoun, Glasgow.
As a Senior Engineer Auxiliary Systems, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of fluid flow models, review of hand calculations, pump selection and characteristics, and system losses, to be deployable into any of the auxiliary systems which support emergent issues or requirements.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work as part a small team of system design validation and verification engineers providing an experienced review and support service to the wider team.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer Auxiliary Systems will involve:
Working effectively as part a small team of system design validation and verification engineers providing an experienced review and support service to the wider team
Interacting with System Lead Engineers, Equipment suppliers and supply chain to support emergent issues in system or equipment design
Ensuring consistency in the processes and quality of outputs of the design team, ultimately to ensure that requirements are met and acceptance of the design by the customer is achieved
Driving to resolution any system design technical issues that may arise and require additional support to resolve
Assisting with the resolution of queries arising from spatial integration of the design
Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer Auxiliary Systems:
Degree/HND or equivalent qualification or experience in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of Auxiliary/Fluid Systems
Experience working with pumps, valves, pipework, compressors, and other equipment associated with complex fluid systems
Ability to assess the work carried out by members of their team and equipment suppliers to assure the quality and the technical acceptability of proposed solutions
Ability to perform robust analysis using recognised analytical tools and to make sound judgements based on experience
Experience of system design
Naval Ship Design experience
Understanding of total engineering lifecycle
