What’s the opportunity?
 
The ISP organisation is responsible for procuring and managing supply chain for direct and indirect products and services for both projects and the business. Total spend is approximately €500M per year across UK, France and Italy.
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Electrical/Electronic team for an Engineering Supply Manager (ESM).
 
What will you be doing?
  • The ESM is ISP’s primary interface with Electronic Engineering (EE) and will be co-located with EE project managers providing intelligence of cost, lead time, risks and opportunities associated with the supplier base.
  • Facilitating EE projects to ensure consistency of ISP approach across the various procurement categories (Cables, Connectors, CCA, PCB, COTS…etc.)
  • Interface with project managers to promote industrial policies (make / buy) and the ISP Sourcing strategies of the categories.
  • Deploy industrial policy and procurement strategies in EE projects to ensure the control of costs, delays and quality of the supply chain in development and in order to efficiently prepare for production.
  • Provide ISP expertise into the development of product roadmap and policies and will identify and characterise new needs ahead of development projects (e.g. IRAD, product policy and roadmap, demonstrators ...etc.) and proactively initiate sourcing actions to adapt/modify the supply base.
  • Define the supply chain architecture into
  • Provide key input to EE projects and ensure ISP activities (supplier sourcing, RFQ, supplier risk management, industrial validation of suppliers) are progressing in accordance with projects plans.
  • Ensure ISP provides the necessary data in the project reviews and the gate reviews in the development cycle.
  • Analyse the specific needs of the projects and ensures the completeness of the TRS/SoW before the launching of tenders to suppliers.
  • Identify the critical components / sub-assemblies (Price, long lead time, export restrictions, suppliers at risks etc.) at the earliest in the design phase in order to anticipate supply problems and implement solutions.
  • Work with EE to develop efficient and/or innovative Purchasing solutions to facilitate short-cycle projects (rapid prototyping).
  • Ensure that ISP/EE transversal improvement actions benefit from close ISP / EE collaboration.
  • Facilitate the connection between engineering and other departments of ISP (Mechanics, Software ...) as required.
  • The candidate will be based at least 50% within EE teams to ensure a real local service.

Who and what we are looking for from you?
 
  • Good general knowledge of electronic / electrical and mechanical technologies related to EE products.
  • Good knowledge of ISP organisation and the Operations Directorate.
  • Procurement experience a benefit.
  • Good knowledge of EE organisation, teams and skills.
  • Good knowledge of the design processes implemented within EE.
  • Highly visible, collaborative and a relationship builder.
  • Ability to listen and analyse.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Professional accreditation and/or degree level education an advantage.
  • Engineering experience/ vocational qualifications an advantage.
  • Strong team skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Team player with cultural sensitivity.
  • Able to work within a demanding and changing environment.
  • IT skills in terms of data analysis, manipulation and presentations.
  • Fluent in the English language.
  • Additional language skills would be an advantage (French, Italian & German).
