Key Responsibilities

As a Project Surveyor (M & E) you will be employed on new build and refurbishment projects.

The STFC's Estates Services team proactively support the Estates remit to deliver flexible, customer focused and efficient services that support the delivery of STFC's vision, values and objectives.

Your duties will include:

  • Initial and on-going liaison with the client to interpret, define and track project requirements, scope and cost for its duration
  • Instructing, implementing and managing projects using NEC3 processes and protocols
  • Preparation of estimates, specifications and tender documentation for M & E Services
  • Management of contractors, including site supervision, checking and quality of work including works coordination, integration, Safety and Quality assurance
  • Close liaison with design office, maintenance staff and clients
  • There may possibly be a requirement to work some weekends.

The Estates Services team needs to be agile and able to adapt to the ever changing needs of our diverse customer base, therefore it is expected that you will demonstrate

a flexible and adaptable approach. All members of the Estates team will, from time to time, be expected to lead or participate (appropriate to Band level) in STFC and Estates projects that may be outside their normal remit.

About you

In order to be considered for the role you will need to have a good knowledge of M & E systems and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office. You will have extensive knowledge and experience in the construction industry as well as previous experience supervising Contractors.

An ONC/HNC in an Engineering or Building related subject is preferred but is not essential.
