Job Details
Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly-skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team who responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets?
What will you be doing?
We have an exciting opportunity to join Anglian Water's expanding Electrical Maintenance team. We are looking someone with experience working on Hazardous area equipment and electrical installations with a proven competence in time management.
You specifically will be completing inspection, testing , remedial and refurbishment work on electrical/mechanical assets within Hazardous areas, this includes production and updating of subsequent records. You will also provide technical advice and solutions to other technicians, teams and departments. Your working day may involve some office based work however operational site work will be your primary duty so tools, equipment and a van are provided along with a performance bonus.
This is a specialist yet diverse electrical role within Anglian Water with plenty of opportunity to develop and gain additional knowledge and training. You will have the opportunity to work with engineers carrying out work on Low Voltage, High Voltage and Thermography subjects and programmes.
What do you need?
You will be educated to ONC/OND level with NVQ 3 or an equivalent electrical technical qualification, with extensive post apprenticeship experience, ideally supervision experience. Current CompEX 1-4, or ICEEx equivalent competence with at least 2 years’ experience in this area are required for this role, however training may be possible for the right candidate. Electrical Inspection and Testing as well as BS7671 qualifications would also be beneficial.
Electrical engineering and CDM regulations application on Water Supply and Water Recycling assets would be an advantage though plenty of training is available for the right candidate. An excellent communicator with the ability to adapt, challenge and change; you will also be flexible, proactive, think strategically and have proven IT and time management skills.
