Senior Engineering Manager - Electrical

Would you like to play a key role in the Active Vehicle Control (AVC) team, working on a complex submarine platform? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineering Manager - Electrical

at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Senior Engineering Manager - Electrical, you will be leading a team who are responsible for the implementation of control systems that impact the manoeuvrability of a submarine. You will be working with whole boat systems, ensuring the complex electronics are delivered to a level of high integrity.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with industry leading practices and help set the way ahead to ensure platform capability.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineering Manager - Electrical will involve:

Strategic lead for internal governance, setting the framework for governance going forward

Stepping through the design process, driving deliverables according to the requirements ensuring a robust solution for the Dreadnought platform

Setting direction and policies, advising on industry leading practices

Ensuring alignment and interface with other sites across BAE Systems

Scheduling detail design work

Overseeing leadership of a team at a strategic level

Influencing significant stakeholders to drive towards certification

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineering Manager - Electrical:

Demonstrable track record in delivering a strategic vision

Experience in strategic leadership particularly within internal governance

Experience of activities required by safe integrity levels (SIL)

Experience in policy setting, thorough understanding of industry leading practices across SIL platforms

Degree STEM/equivalent experience

CEng or eligible for Chartership

Maritime - Submarines

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.
