SFU Systems Engineer
Would you like to play a key role in the delivery and acceptance of a torpedo system on time and within budget? We currently have two vacancies for a Systems Engineer at our site in Broad Oak in Portsmouth.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be involved in the design and develop of solutions, resolving engineering issues and problems for a range of situations relating to the design and acceptance responsibilities of the SFU System Design Team. You will also be supporting the development of the concept design for a future light weight torpedo.
This role will provide you with the chance to develop as an engineer, with the potential for excellent career progression opportunities in the future.
Your main responsibilities as a Systems Engineer will involve:
Undertaking functional design and/or providing qualification and evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, regulatory & legislative requirements, and safety relating to SFU
Undertaking system and sub-system requirements derivation, specification and management
Specifying internal and external interfaces
Performing systems design trade-off studies
Specifying compliance, qualification and acceptance tests and trials
Performing internal verification of compliance evidence
Agreeing compliance, qualification and acceptance evidence with Customer
Maintaining the projects DOORS requirements database
Your skills and qualifications:
Expertise in Systems Designs
Previous experience or exposure to system integration
Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent level of competence
A defence background is preferred
Torpedo knowledge is an advantage
