Would you like to play a key role in the Active Vehicle Control (AVC) team, working on a complex submarine platform? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager - Electrical at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As an Engineering Manager - Electrical, you will be part of a team who are responsible for the implementation of control systems that impact the manoeuvrability of a submarine. You will be working with whole boat systems, ensuring the complex electronics are delivered to a level of high integrity.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with industry leading practices and help set the way ahead to ensure platform capability.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Manager - Electrical

will involve:

Generating KPI's to monitor activities and review against cost, time, quality and schedule ensuring activities undertaken are prioritised according to the overall strategy of Active Vehicle Control (AVC)

Ensuring team members are assessed, developed, deployed and skilled to maximise their personal contribution to meet the requirements of contracts, schedules and specifications

Ensuring developed solutions are clearly defined, integrated, configured, controlled and delivered including resolution of conflicts and integration issues that occur through development and delivery phases

Managing engineering resources to agreed budgets

Collaborating across the wider team, across networks and locations to ensure activities are in harmony, ensuring optimal delivery of engineering design activities

Your skills and qualifications as an Engineering Manager - Electrical:

Demonstrable experience of leading a team of Engineers through the design process

Experience of activities required by safe integrity levels (SIL)

Experience of setting and monitoring KPI's to ensure deliverables are executed

Degree STEM/equivalent experience

CEng or eligible for Chartership

Strategic leadership skills
