Senior IETP Technical Documentation Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP) Technical Documentation Engineer at our site in Filton.

As a Senior IETP Technical Documentation Engineer, you will coordinate and execute IETP production tasks, or packages of work, and to provide guidance and advice in a consistent professional manner within the discipline, taking cognisance of appropriate budget, timescale and quality standards, providing leadership where required.

This role will provide you with the opportunity support the Royal Navy and with the provision of Technical Documentation for a state of art, world class product.

Your main responsibilities as an Senior IETP Technical Documentation Engineer will be:

To produce the Astute Class IETP to ensure delivery of Individual Submarine IETPs in accordance with the required programme schedule.

To build and maintain effective liaison / communication with the Data Production teams and act as a conduit in resolving issues / providing clarification.

To liaise with both internal and external customers as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.

To assist the IETP Production Team (PT) Manager to ensure that all project-related records are complete, accurate and up-to-date.

To undertake peer reviews or checking / verification tasks as directed.

To have a clear understanding of and apply the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation e.g. Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc. applicable to your particular work scope and to obey all HS&E rules and control measures.

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior IETP Technical Documentation Engineer:

Sound working knowledge and experience of ASD S1000D 1.8 onwards and ability to create and amend SGML, HTML & XML data modules

Knowledge and understanding of Common Source Databases (data vault), holding the source material from which the data is extracted to use with the trilogiBuild IETP software.

Experience of collecting and collating data to build reports

Possess excellent attention to detail and be proficient in the discipline of document configuration control.

Maritime - Submarines
