Engineering Processes Lead (Systems Engineering)

Would you like to be the driving force in transforming Weapon Systems towards disciplined, repeatable processes which enable exceptional performance on our current programs and gives us a competitive advantage in winning new business? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Processes Lead (Systems Engineering) at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As an Engineering Processes Lead (Systems Engineering), you will be responsible for providing specialist knowledge of Engineering processes to engineering teams involved in the development of military equipment and/or any associated sub-systems or services. This will involve a complete review of existing processes with other functions within the business to ensure the most efficient and effective way of working.

This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to work cross functionally alongside our US partners in a challenging and dynamic role, managing an integrated set of engineering processes.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Processes Lead (Systems Engineering)will involve:

Providing leadership to multi-functional Engineering Process and Tools Working Groups

Establishing and maintaining process management procedures, governing process development across Weapon Systems

Establishing process asset libraries, managing process changes, coordinating Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) appraisals and supporting internal audits

Coordinating the development of integrated Process Improvement Plans (PIPs), and representing the organisation as the Engineering Process Lead to external organisations

Collaborating across the world-wide organisation to share best practices and maintain technical competency

Working closely with cross-functional leadership and subject matter experts across the business

Your skills and qualifications as an Engineering Processes Lead (Systems Engineering):

Essential:

Experience in developing and maintaining engineering processes and leading teams towards the successful development and implementation of cross-functional processes

Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging engineering processes development methods

Experience working with/with equivalent - Creo, SAP, Teamcentre, Workspace (Sharepoint)

Excellent understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office

HND/Degree/equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline e.g. Systems Engineering

Desirable:

Understanding of lean principles

Knowledge of the engineering life-cycle within Weapons systems

You will be a strong communicator with excellent presentation skills with the confidence and ability to challenge existing processes where necessary. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
