Engineering Manager - Diving Systems

Would you like to play a key leadership role within our submarine programmes? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager - Diving Systems at our site in Barrow.

As an Engineering Manager - Diving Systems, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers looking at complex systems for a pressure vessel used for human occupancy.

This role will provide you with a wide and varied workload as well as the chance to work with a wide stakeholder base including external BAE departments, the wider industry supply chain, Ministry of Defence and other experts in the field of oxygen and life support systems.

Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Manager - Diving Systems will involve:

Leading a team of engineers looking at systems engineering across a number of complex air and water systems

Considering how each system interacts with others and ensuring they satisfy the customer requirements

Managing the delivery of the multiple complex systems and capability

Leading and managing the payload team, to ensure each team member is assessed, developed, deployed and skilled to maximise their personal contribution and to meet the requirements of the business, contracts, schedules and specifications

Interfacing with each individual area to ensure the systems engineering of those systems is adequately managed through the design lifecycle

Defining, implementing and monitoring configuration management processes within the programme's integrated systems group

Your skills and qualifications as an Engineering Manager - Diving Systems:

Essential

Degree qualification (or equivalent) in relevant STEM subject or any relevant experience gained on a large military project

Working knowledge and understanding of air and water systems

Knowledge of configuration management

Desirable

Experience of designing life support systems and pressure vessels

Experience of oxygen hazard analysis

Chartership (Ceng)

Maritime - Submarines
