JSS2 INE Network Engineer

Would you like to play a key role, working as a support engineer developing new INE releases? We currently have a vacancy for a JSS2 INE Network Engineer at our site in Broad Oak.

As a JSS2 INE Network Engineer you will be responding to opdefs that come from the ship, developing new releases that are being delivered to the ship going through the test cycle.

This role will provide you with involvement in a high profile support programme to keep the Royal Navy flagship operational.

Your main responsibilities as a JSS2 INE Network Engineer will involve:

Supporting the design phase of Naval Networks, this includes network architecture and development/changes to requirements of interface documents that capture how using systems will interface with the network

Assisting with the implementation phase of Naval Networks based on the design baseline, which encompasses the configuration creation, supporting the development of auto generated interface scripting the design directly into switch configuration

Supporting the test/release phase of Naval Networks based on the implementation baseline, which involves fault resolutions under pressure for delivery of a release to be used on platform

Supporting all related platform activities

Supporting the maturity of functional, performance and safety testing that will be required to release deployable networks to other suppliers

Applying good Configuration Management processes to daily work through Observation Reporting tools and keep a good track of documentation amendment records

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Experienced in all aspects of networking, L1 to L3 skills

IT Infrastructure / networking technical background

Integration support background

Desirable

Knowledge of some of LAN, WAN, MPLS, QoS, BGP, OSPF, RIP, IPSEC, GRE, L2TP, MSTP, HSRP, Virtual SwitchingCisco knowledge

Integration Support background

CCNA minimum or working towards
