Applications Support Engineer

Would you like a role within the newly-created Archer Product Team within Product Delivery in EITS? We currently have a vacancy for an Applications Support Engineer at our site in The Strand - Preston.

As an Applications Support Engineer, you will work for the Archer Product Owner to complete the required activities to ensure that the Archer Product is functioning correctly and continually enhancing its' capability. You will be guided technically by the Product Technical Lead, who is the design authority for the tool, and will ensure their activities meet the design standards set by the Product Technical Lead.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a newly-created service on a product that is receiving increasing attention within BAE Systems. Majority of jobs will be hands-on configuration to meet the customer's requirements and therefore there is a lot of direct interaction with senior stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities as an Applications Support Engineer will be:

Accountable for gathering requirements, configuring & supporting modules of RSA Archer according to best practice methods

Provide product and service direction to the Product Management Team and implement these as part of a self-organising team

Drive issue resolution and resolve underpinning problems as part of a continuous service

Work with customers to introduce innovation and evolve the product

Have significant understanding of the specific requirement scope, functional capability of the module and how this interfaces with the other components of the system

Work with suppliers, customers, team members and industry peers to continuously improve delivery of change

Document technical business requirements and problems into a format that is easily consumable by all parties

Contribute to protecting the products from technical debt and process debt

Your essential skills and qualifications:

Experience configuring an application from the front-end and documenting the solution

Experience managing virtual Windows/SQL servers, services, processes and applications

Comfortable with presenting to senior managers on a regular basis

Able to travel on an infrequent basis to meet with customers as required (Farnborough)

Desirable skills:

Experience with RSA Archer or another Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool

ITIL Foundation certified

Experience working within a technical support environment

Experience with Tableau or another enterprise-level reporting solution

Salary: £28,000+
