Principal Engineer - Systems (Validation & Verification)


Would you like to play a key role in the definition of maturity lifecycle for integrated system outputs, which is not in place? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer - Systems (Validation & Verification) at our site in Barrow.


As a Principal Engineer - Systems (Validation & Verification), you will be liaising with process and procedure groups and the systems integration manager to drive delivery, which means looking at how this is carried out currently and how we can implement a standard process.


This role will provide you with a new team and you will work on part of a major project dealing with national security in a growth area and to be part of the biggest defence and complex engineering company's.



Your main responsibilities as a Principal Engineer - Systems (Validation & Verification) will involve:


Definition of maturity lifecycle for integrated system outputs, liaising with process and procedure groups and the systems integration manager to drive delivery.


Definition of overall quality/V&V strategy for the integrated systems


Base on the overall strategy; define the processes and procedures to be used.


Process adherence/audit

Working with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency between the integrated systems group and the wider Dreadnought programme:


Engendering a quality culture within the integrated systems group.


Supporting the suppliers in delivering outputs to the required maturity as well as identifying opportunities to increase maturity earlier in the lifecycle.



Your skills and qualifications:

Degree qualification (or equivalent) in relevant STEM subject such as Systems Engineering or any relevant experience gained on a large military project.


Knowledge of, and experience in system V&V

Experience of managing the configuration of software based systems throughout the engineering lifecycle.


Experience of/ ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and customer representatives.


Professional membership such as INCOSE or chartered status (CEng) or working towards
