Principal Project Engineer

Would you like to play a critical delivery role within Project Delivery within our wider PMO team? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Project Engineer at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.

As a Principal Project Engineer, you will be holding the engineers in your team to account to make sure they are delivering on the work that is set out for the team.

This role will be highly visible across the Project Management function and provide you with the chance to get involved in a newly formed delivery team whilst partnering with a range of other areas within BAE. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Project Engineer:

Holding Engineering to account on performance and driving them to deliver on time, cost and quality

Cost and schedule data analysis to understand performance trends

Mitigation of risks and realisation of opportunities across Barrow workstreams

Leading and resolving issues as they arise

Engagement and reporting into the wider PMO to ensure alignment with other sites Warton and Rochester

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Understanding and experience of Earn Value Management

Understanding of risk and opportunity management

Previous experience within Project Management as well as working towards and achieving deadlines

LCM experience

Desirable

Microsoft Power Point and Excel ,Project and P6

Strong Stakeholder Management Skills

You will demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. You will need to be able to influence multiple stakeholders and interact confidently with senior management. Strong problem solving skills are key to the success of this role.
