Senior SCADA and Telemetry Engineer

Hours: 37 Hours (Monday to Friday)
Location: Walsall with some travel to Cambridge

About the job...

Our team design and maintain SCADA, ICA/ICS and telemetry systems that control the abstraction, treatment, distribution and storage of water to our customers in the South Staffordshire and Cambridge regions. Part of the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure, the operability and resilience of systems installed is paramount to ensure the continued supply of water.

The Senior SCADA and Telemetry Engineer will be responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and governance of the SCADA and Telemetry systems deployed across the organisations widely distributed asset base.

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent level qualification coupled with several years’ experience of managing SCADA and Telemetry systems and associated applications such as data historians.  A working knowledge of cyber security and best practice ‘secure by design’ principles would be advantages as would experience of TCP/IP, PSTN, PW and GSM based communication platforms.

Applicants with experience of working in the water industry or the utilities sector will be considered favorably although other sector experience is also welcomed. 

You will be required to travel throughout our region, therefore a driving licence is essential. Participation in an out-of-hours standby rota may also be required. Standby is fully supported with health and safety being priority and lone working safety practices in place.
