The Opportunity

A new Engineering Manager role has been created within the Engineering (Manufacturing UK) function, to provide functional leadership in the area of Calibration and Maintenance. As a key influencer you will be expected to organise and lead a multi-disciplined team which can deliver day to day business in Bolton, Henlow and Stevenage, whilst also generating a functional strategy to make the department more efficient / effective in delivering customer’s needs.
 
What are we looking for?

A self-motivated individual with leadership experience who is able to:
  • Build and retain high performing teams.
  • Actively seek opportunities for improvement for self and the team.
  • Experience in asset and budget management (ideally in the application of complex equipment provision and management) and calibration recall in-line with ISO 9100:Rev D.
  • A good appreciation of the standards governing the calibration and maintenance of equipment (ISO 17025)

The Role
  • The Calibration & Maintenance Resource Manager will own and manage the resource needed to support the organisation throughout the entire CADMID cycle used within MBDA.
  • Deployment of Calibration and Maintenance engineer and operator resource to align with the Project requirements (existing and future state).
  • Generation and maintenance of people development plans (Knowledge Management, Succession and attrition, Improvement).
  • Involvement during the development product life cycle to implement ‘Design for Calibration and Maintenance’ methodologies.
  • Working with the business improvement team to specify and implement the Industry 4.0 big data analysis and connectivity.

  • Working within the multi-disciplinary Engineering function, the whole team is focused on providing ‘Design for Excellence’ feedback to the design community during the development stage; moving into product support / query management in the production phase. The Calibration and Maintenance team are key in both of these phases in ensuring the equipment acceptance and maintenance delivers product to the customer when required
