Lead Engineer Control and Instrumentation
We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Engineer C&I at our site in Barrow.
As a Lead Engineer C&I (Control & Instrumentation), you will be leading and overseeing a team of engineers.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on the Submarine within an established team where there will be lots of career progression within the function.
Your main responsibilities as a Lead Engineer C&I will involve:
Producing system designs and documentation, including design descriptions, schematic diagrams and safety justifications
Equipment specification and selection and collating equipment attributes to supporting build model and bill of material compilation
Supporting system design reviews and model reviews
Collating equipment qualification evidence
Supporting the production of test forms
Preparing test plans, attending equipment factory acceptance tests and reviewing test evidence and reports
Supporting procurement process
Supporting ILS studies
Interacting with transversal stakeholders
Co-ordinating C&I user trials
Your skills and qualifications as a Lead Engineer C&I:
BEng or equivalent working experience
CEng, MIET (or be able to work towards satisfying requirements for CEng) or M Inst M & C
ILM 2 / 3, PRINCE 2 or equivalent
An understanding of instrumentation and control system theory
An understanding of electrical circuits design, EMC precautions and power supply characteristics
Experience of: Submarine, Marine, Nuclear, Defence or Instrumentation and/ or Control System Design or Manufacture
Understanding of Safety Integrity Levels and BS EN 61508 or 61511
Awareness of PLC programming to IEC 61131-3 standard
Team Centre Awareness
