Product Safety Engineer
Would you like to play a key role ensuring safety within the Weapon Systems business? We currently have a vacancy for a Product Safety Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness
As a Product Safety Engineer, you will be working within the Engineering team providing specialist safety knowledge to project teams involved in the development of military equipment and/or any associated sub-systems or services.
This role will give you the opportunity to develop your product safety knowledge and become an expert within an exciting and niche area. You will also get the chance to work on international projects, liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities as a Product Safety Engineer will involve:
Undertaking safety tasks within programme cost and time-scale constraints
Developing strong relationships with the customer
Preparing safety documentation
Undertaking safety hazard analysis, using recognised tools and techniques
Providing technical expertise and general safety advice to project/design teams on operational and environmental aspects
Your skills and qualifications as a Product Safety Engineer:
Demonstrable experience within product safety
Experience preparing safety documentation
Engineering background within mechanical or electrical discipline
Experience within defence/ oil & gas or a similar complex engineering environment
Degree or equivalent qualification or experience within a relevant engineering discipline
