Engineer - Senior Metrologist

Would you like to play a key role in providing Instrumentation Measurement, Calibration, and Quality Systems support services to the business? We currently have a vacancy for an Engineer - Senior Metrologist at our site in Barrow-In-Furness.

As an Engineer - Senior Metrologist, you will support the Project Leader Metrology with technical Quality System requirements such as: audit planning, internal audits, report preparation, review of system effectiveness, and manage progress meetings and acceptance meetings.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to cover varied technical topics and quality systems analysis across many skilled activities and measurement parameters. This role will provide the chance to work within a constantly evolving and interesting area of our business

Your main responsibilities as an Engineer - Senior Metrologist:

Provide Instrumentation Measurement, Calibration, and Quality Systems Support Services to areas of the business.

Support technical Quality System requirements such as:

o audit planning

o internal audits

o report preparation

o review of system effectiveness

o manage progress meetings

o Acceptance meetings.

o Able to work autonomously in delivering the projects

o influencing stakeholders to drive change

Work to reportable metrics

Ensure that we are in adherence with customer contract requirements

Produce outputs to agreed time scales

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential HND in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification / experience

Knowledge of calibration and metrology (i.e. measurement science)

Understanding of quality standards (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 10012, ISO/IEC 17025)

Good IT Skills including Microsoft Office

Desirable

Experience in Defence, Oil & Gas or Aerospace industries

Quality Systems Auditing experience in internal auditing

Comfortable working/talking with others and in front of others

Ideally will have experience in Defence, Oil & Gas or aerospace industries

Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis experience
