Senior Optimisation Engineer

Would you like to work in the Fast Jet Support Hub? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Optimisation Engineer at our site in Samlesbury.

As a Senior Optimisation Engineer, you will be tasked with identifying Engineering improvements to the Platform and/or Maintenance Programme. These Optimisation Candidates will help to increase the availability, and reduce the through life cost of ownership of the Typhoon aircraft, across all current customers.

This role will provide you with great insight into the customer facing side of our business, allowing you to interface with multiple elements of BAE Systems through the generation of Engineering Business Cases, whilst interacting with senior stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Optimisation Engineer will involve:

Analysing, understanding and interpreting arising's data to generate a view of equipment's impact on Availability, Aircraft on ground and Maintenance burden.

Analysing, understanding and interpreting maintenance tasks and data to understand the opportunity to optimise the MPOL (Maintenance Policy) of the Platform based on in-service experience.

Analysing, understanding and interpreting aircraft maintenance and supply chain information to identify root causes of RMT (Reliability, Maintainability and Testability) issues;

Holding regular reviews with the customer to agree prioritisation and discuss implementation progress.

Chairing root cause investigation meetings to progress investigations into RMT issues.

Applying investigative techniques in order to isolate the root cause of in-service issues.

Liaise with Stakeholders (including Customers and Suppliers) across the End to End Support Solution to investigate and identify the root cause of an issue.

Generating effective solutions that are technically feasible, low cost and safe in the form of Cost Benefit Analyses (Business Cases) and driving these through the Business Change processes to implementation In-Service.

Your skills and qualifications:

A Degree or HNC/D or equivalent in any Engineering discipline

Experience in an aerospace environment with a sound knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance activities will be advantageous

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

IT literate with particular emphasis on MS Office Suite

Desirable:

An understanding of the holistic Support Solution of the Typhoon Weapon System

Salary: £37654+
