The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with drive and enthusiasm to join Europe’s number one missile system provider. The role will be to directly support the transfer of mechanical designs into manufacturing during the preparation for and maintaining of series production.
What are we looking for?
- Ideally Degree/HND/HNC qualified plus experience in Mechanical Design and Development.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal and be aware of Cultural differences.
- You will have a willing, helpful attitude, a calm professional manner, and the ability to assess and set priorities and deal with multiple issues on a regular basis
- Knowledge of common development techniques such as DFMEA, DFA, DFM.
- Experience of supplier engagement and development across internal and external multi-disciplinary teams.
- Awareness of proving activities to ensure compliance against requirements.
- Applications will be considered by those wishing to work on a part-time or flexible basis

You will be responsible for:
- Developing the Design for Manufacturing activities across a wide range of missile equipment’s.
- Investigating and resolving design issues as they occur in the production environment and supporting any remedial and corrective action plans.
- Providing feedback to Mechanical Design Equipment teams on issues raised to ensure continuous improvement and best practices is maintained.
