Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager (Manufacturing Technology)


Would you like to work alongside Technologists to identify potential manufacturing technologies to improve and maximise manufacturing processes and systems, thereby leveraging technological advantage in the production of Nuclear Submarines. We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our site in Barrow.


As a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be Managing an engineering programme or project consisting of a number of major engineering systems, disciplines, platform assemblies, equipment or software products Roles are differentiated through the size of projects managed as measured though, annual cost/budget, IBP value and volume of resources managed.


This role will provide you with developing new and emerging technologies that can be inbodied into the business improving qualities and lead time in the business


Your main responsibilities as a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager will involve:


Provide expert support optimisation of existing processes.

 

 


Use industry standard processes to demonstrate Manufacturing Technology readiness Levels.


Manage Manufacturing Technology.


Access research and development funding, both internal and external.


Understand and evaluate emerging trends, technologies and business opportunities.


Generate new capabilities, products and services.

Identify, develop and exploit new technology in order to benefit products& services.


Rapidly demonstrate and evaluate concepts and technologies.

Programme Management Using Schedule and Cost KPIs.


Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager:


Management and integration of multi-disciplined engineering teams


Able to generate a business case for developing new technologies


Delivery of projects to meet customer and contractual obligations for cost, quality, timeliness and specification,


Demonstrable experience of Developing and Implementing new technologies into an existing manufacturing environment, e.g. Additive Manufacture, Automation, Robotics etc.


Significant experience of areas of research.

Requires good understanding of customer and customer requirements plus an awareness of industry approaches and standards.
