Project Planner

Would you like to part of a project management team providing a variety of services to assist in the delivery of key projects for one of the biggest ship building projects currently running in the UK. We currently have a vacancy for a Project Planner at our site in Filton.

As a Project Planner, you will create and maintain project plans for new programmes and/or restructuring existing project plans following major change, including baselining/re-baselining. You will own the planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of the capability in the delivery of specific projects and work closely with Control Account Managers to gather and input task progress to the schedule.

In return, this role will provide you with the opportunity to join Naval Ships during an exciting time of ship building and to be instrumental in the Construction of high-level plans the UK

Your main responsibilities as a Project Planner:

Work with Control Account Managers to gather and input task progress to the schedule

Analysis of schedules including forecasts and critical path

Facilitate schedule reviews with project managers

Implement Baseline Change Requests (BCR's)

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Experience in the use of Primavera P6

Apply budgets across the whole of the project's WBS, using appropriate Control Account and Work Packages principles, during both baselining and re-baselining of project plans

Undertake analysis of the project plans (L0, L1, and L2) against critical and near-critical path events, to identify problematic performance and communicate the potential impact to appropriate parities

Ability to analyse, intemperate and report on key performance indicators such as earned value, Schedule Performance Indicators, Cost Performance indicators and Forecast Cost at Completion data

Demonstrates the ability to understand and positively influence planning processes and the relationship between detail and project planning

Provide technical guidance, skills, information and advice to the planning community

Advanced IT skills: job holder must be proficient in the use of appropriate packages (Word, Excel, and MS Office.)

Previous Defence Industry experience

Project Controls and Planning Level 5 Diploma

Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area
