Project Controller and Product Data Engineer

Would you like to work within an interesting role, supporting the Submarines business unit? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Controller and Product Data Engineer at our site in Telford.

As a Project Controller and Product Data Engineer, you will be working you will be working to achieve and exceed business objectives and targets in the areas of product quality, schedule adherence; cost and product delivery lead-times. Your role will be varied and interesting and involves working with new to market products and platforms.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to engage with internal and external stakeholders. Within this role every day is different, dealing with a variety of stakeholders and establishing needs of customers with varied queries. There is potential for opportunities may arise within this team to progress up to the next level or wider within the BAE sector.

Your main responsibilities as a Project Controller and Product Data Engineer

Will involve:

Creating and configuration managing product master data.

Preparing and managing production planning information and process control documentation (e.g. process plans and routings, manufacturing schedules) to achieve optimal operating efficiencies.

Preparing and managing Bills of Materials through SAP (including engineering/manufacturing change and configuration control management).

Providing production control support to shop floor activities including vehicle upgrade, modification, component repairs and the manufacture of spares as required.

Preparing and managing production planning and scheduling information and process control documentation (e.g. Production Works Orders, Service Orders/Notifications, process plans and routings, manufacturing instructions and schedules) to achieve optimal operating efficiencies and effectiveness.

Establishing and maintaining manufacturing resource forward load data.

Analysing performance by project, generating reports and corrective action plans to address issues as required.

Identifying, justifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.

Actively participating in and promoting all aspects of the business SHE Management system.

Providing technical and administrative support to the Operations Management team as required.

Participating fully in make/buy decision making process.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Detailed operating knowledge of SAP is essential

Manufacturing change control and configuration control management is essential

Manufacturing planning and scheduling tools and techniques is essential

Experience of managing Production Works Orders, Service Notifications and Service Orders is essential

Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques

Knowledge of applicable business quality standards

Knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and best practice

Experience of performance monitoring, measurement and reporting

Desirable

Knowledge or experience of Teamcentre is desirable

Manufacturing Bill of Material creation and management through SAP
