Manufacturing Engineer - Mechanical

Would you like to have the opportunity to influence the new trade processes? We currently have a vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineer at our site in Barrow in Furness.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be joining the Manufacturing Engineering Process and Governance team within the Build Delivery Organisation

This role will provide you with the opportunity to support new document creation and update of existing documents for both Dreadnought and Astute contracts

Your main responsibilities as a Manufacturing Engineer will involve:

Support future projects and build readiness activity as design is translated to production. This role will work with Engineering and Subject Matter Experts to produce technical documentation and processes, enabling the Operations (Production) teams to manufacture and construct against engineering design

Review and refresh technical documentation associated with the Astute Programme and its transference, as well as the creation of new documentation and processes discrete to the design and build

Technical authoring activity will be conducted across tradal areas

Undertake Quality or Safety actions resulting from investigations or audits which involve the update of any tradal processes within the individual's remit within agreed time-scales

Carry out process confirmations of processes in line with agreed team targets and identify process improvement opportunities

Ensure effective deployment of processes to the Build Delivery management team

Interface with Quality Assurance to ensure adherence to the Business Management System policy and process

Your skills and qualifications:

Engineering background / experience preferable

Evidence of developing optimal manufacturing work flows and packages using manufacturing engineering disciplines, exploiting and leveraging business systems.

Experience of working within a mechanical installation or manufacturing environment

Strong MS Office knowledge

CAD, PLM, ERP, MES system solution awareness

Proven Experience/knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and/or lean manufacturing principles
