Job Details
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Systems V&V Engineer to help drive our Commercial platforms Testing. The role will be mainly focused on the Integration, Verification and Validation activities of our Radar and ECDIS Product lines.
The ideal candidate will be:
•experienced in developing, and carrying out testing on complex systems comprising software and hardware
•hands on tester who is at ease setting up both hardware and software test environments
•results orientated, understand how they can help deliver to schedule and budget
Key responsibilities:
Test Process:
•To help drive continuous improvement of our Test process’ and procedures
•To Work with our Hamburg Teams to ensure we share best practice across both sites
Testing:
•To design and document appropriate testing for both manual and automated testing
•To carry out Integration, verification and Validation testing of Radar and ECDIS Systems
•To develop and run automated test scripts
•To carry out investigation of defects and to provide feedback to the development team using our defect tracking tool
General:
•Occasional travel both within the UK and further afield
•To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
•To carry out any other reasonable management request
Skills & experience:
Required:
•Degree in a technical subject, equivalent qualification (e.g. HND) or experience.
•Strong experience of System Engineering Verification and Validation
•Understanding of Verification and Validation for Software projects.
•Experience of automated test scripting (in Python or Similar)
•Good written and oral communication skills.
•Good interpersonal skills
•Ability to learn and assimilate new technical information quickly and thoroughly.
Desirable/Acquirable:
•Experience of Agile development and testing using Scrum.
•Use of Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo).
•Knowledge of Marine Type Approval
•Knowledge of Marine Products (specifically Radar and ECDIS)
•Experience of testing in a safety critical or regulated industry (E.g. Aerospace, Rail, etc.)
•Experience with testing to IEC Standards
