Senior Quality Engineer

Would you like to be a part of our long and proud heritage in the development, manufacture upgrade and support of world-leading combat and fast jet trainer aircraft? We currently have vacancies for Senior Quality Engineers at our site in Samlesbury/Warton.

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be involved in supplier management and internal assurance collaborating with partners large and small, from within and beyond the defence sector both from the UK and around the globe.

The roles are high tempo, demanding and customer facing across multiple products such as Typhoon, Hawk and Tornado aircraft within development, acquisition and in-service phases of the life cycle.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Quality Engineer will involve: 

Lifecycle phase dependant quality assurance and control activities

Managing and performing internal product, process and system audits

Managing Third Party, customer, supplier and regulatory approval visits

Performing first article verifications and factory acceptance tests relating to new and updated equipment

Providing product certification and release documentation

Managing quality issues through investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action and verification

Driving business improvement activities

Managing system deployment and maintenance including policy, process and performance management

Occasional national and international travel in order to work collaboratively with partners and customers

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Quality Engineer:

Degree/HNC or equivalent qualification or experience in Engineering discipline

An understanding of the product and service lifecycle

Knowledge of quality practices and toolsets

Knowledge of quality requirements for aerospace and defence contracts (e.g. EN9100, AQAPs, Defence Standards) – desirable
