EA Technology is embracing the challenges faced by the electricity distribution industry in the UK and globally. Our industry experts are leading the way in technical and business transformation analysis to allow for the cost-effective integration of distributed energy resources (such as small-scale generation and electric vehicles) to the grid and in assisting our clients in the transition from Distribution Network Operator to Distribution System Operator.

Job Purpose

We are growing our Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team and are seeking a Senior Consultant to support and deliver a portfolio of projects.  The successful candidate must have a strong technical background, ideally in the energy or transport sectors in the UK.

Overview of Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting delivery of our live projects, most notably:
  • Charge (with SP Energy Networks)
  • AutoDesign (with Northern PowerGrid)
  • Electric Nation (with Western Power Distribution)
  • Day to day project management, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, to plan and budget
  • Tracking actions to ensure timely delivery and providing accurate project status updates
  • Supporting the team in developing new business opportunities, through identifying customer needs and funding opportunities, building partnerships and assisting with proposals and presentations to clients
  • Providing input to the Head of EV Infrastructure on the strategic direction to the team.

Academic/Knowledge Required:

  • Knowledge of the electricity system or transport planning approaches in the UK
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle charging systems, an interest in how this technology is likely to develop in future
  • IT literate, with a basic understanding of how complex software projects are delivered.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in a STEM subject, with relevant post-graduate experience or further qualifications (equivalent to 3 years’ relevant industrial experience)

Special Aptitudes/skills:

  • Ability to understand and work with complex problems involving a range of stakeholders
  • Numerate, with strong analytical data analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to write clear, concise reports and compelling proposals
  • Excellent clarity of thought, with ability to explain concepts and ideas at a level appropriate to the audience
