We currently have a vacancy for PLM Competency Centre Manager at our PLM Competency Centre (PLMCC) in Barrow.
The PLM Competency Centre (PLMCC) is an organisation which supports the company's Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Systems. These systems are the cornerstone of Engineering design information for the Dreadnought Class submarine programme.
In addition to application support, the teams within the PLMCC are increasingly responsible for elements of application development and configuration.
As a PLM Competency Centre Manager, your function is dynamic with a very demanding customer as there are numerous projects on the horizon in both CAD and PLM. We are looking for someone who can develop the team to take on greater capability across the application lifecycle and switch the function from predominantly support to having a far greater control of project delivery.
This is a high profile role steering the use and support of Business Critical CAD and PLM applications using Leading Edge technology in a fast changing environment. You will have a rich and varied workload, with a vision of a transformed organisation assuming greater responsibility for project delivery and more engagement with executives from across BAE Systems.
Your main responsibilities as a PLM Competency Centre Manager will involve:
Maintenance of Support workload within agreed SLAs
Motivating a large & skilled team
Team Development/Transformation/Growth to broaden the teams capability/scope of activity.
Customer stakeholder management
Your skills and qualifications:
Management of the Support of large scale CAD and PLM Implementations
Management of teams developing, testing and deploying large scale CAD and PLM solutions in a highly complex and secure environment.
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Excellent people development skills
Experience of many full project lifecycles in a management position in the CAD or PLM areas
Excellent appreciation of the governance processes applicable to iTiL based support organisations and "V" Model and Agile based project delivery organisations
Excellent communications skills with ability to engage at all levels in the organisation
Ideally these experiences would be in an A&D or other highly complex Engineering based organisation.
A technical understanding of CAD/PLM solutions from prior experience as a Solution architect or application developer or support engineer would be valuable.
Ability to manage, run and maintain a significant budget.
