Mechanical Infrastructure & Building Services Engineer

BAE Systems is looking to recruit a Mechanical Infrastructure and Building Services Engineer to work as part of the Facilities Management Engineering and Governance Team at our site in Warton.

As a Mechanical Infrastructure & Building Services Engineer, you will have operational responsibilities for several significant UK sites and will assist in developing the necessary FM and Engineering Governance Frameworks to support a wider global AIR Sector FM Community.

This role will enable you to work across a wide breadth of mechanical disciplines to help provide the capability and capacity that is required to address a varied landscape of FM challenges.

Your main responsibilities as a Mechanical Infrastructure & Building Services Engineer will involve:

Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and sustainability

Developing project specifications, negotiating, managing and developing project contracts including tenders

Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs

Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers

Monitoring and commissioning plant and systems

Delivering documentation offering a critical analysis and suggestions for correcting errors

Identifying process deficiencies and developing solutions to improve those deficiencies

Designing, developing and managing new technologies that help to reduce the carbon emissions of a building

Commissioning, organising and assessing the work of contractors

Your skills and qualifications as a Mechanical Infrastructure & Building Services Engineer

HND Mechanical Engineering/Building Services or equivalent qualification or experience

Previous experience within a Hard FM role

Experience of Building Services and Infrastructure design and commissioning

Awareness of Utility design and Codes of Practice - desirable

Experience of Manufacturing plant, equipment and processes, specifically in relation to effective design and maximising energy efficiency

Through Project Life Cycle experience of design reviews, value engineering and specification conformance
