Did you know that Ocado is no longer just an online grocery retailer?

Based on our ground-breaking Ocado Smart Platform technology, we are now developing world class automated warehouse systems and engaging in exciting new business opportunities with clients in both the UK and around the world!

Only a 20 minute commute from London King’s Cross and with a free shuttle bus provided from Hatfield Station to the office, as an Associate Project Engineer you will be given the unique opportunity to work with this cutting edge technology, making our automation solutions a reality and shaping the way that we all receive our groceries.

The Associate Project Engineer supports the project management and delivery process whilst making these new fulfilment centres a reality. You will be part of a talented central engineering team and also have the exciting opportunity to work with a huge variety of colleagues across the business, being the link between teams based at different locations and in different time zones.

As Associate Project Engineer you will support the projects until ‘go-live’ ensuring that programmes stay on plan especially during technical design and manufacturing phases. You will also get the opportunity to contribute in the commercial aspects of the project; including formulation of the capital budget and contractual arrangements

This is not a role for a project manager, this requires an engineer that can manage projects, who understands and can get hands on with automation engineering detail. We require engineers who have excellent technical and practical competence relating to automation and general engineering as well as those with exposure to projects and products in manufacturing, automotive, airports, FMCG distribution or a similar field.

As an Associate Project Engineer you will have a Technical / Engineering qualification to degree level in a relevant field and be able to demonstrate a balanced and considered approach to problem resolution with the ability to draw a workable solution from diverse teams.

Ocado is a dynamic company and this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a fast paced environment and be innovative in thought whilst maintaining a “can do” and “in this together” attitude and approach to work.

In return for your expertise, Ocado offer a challenge like no other and a sense that you are part of a team doing something different. Ocado also offer benefits such as contributory pensions, share schemes, private medical insurance, life assurance, employee discount on and our speciality stores sites (Fetch and Sizzle).

This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, skills, efforts, requirements or working conditions associated with the job. While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different tasks be performed as assigned.
