Senior Engineering - Design and Training Systems

Would you like an exciting opportunity within our Engineering Function in the Air Sector at BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineering - Design Training Systems at our site in Warton.

As a Senior Engineer - Design Training Systems you will be providing a CAD training capability across the Air(UK) business. In support of designers and other engineers deployed on a range of aircraft programmes, the role holder's responsibilities will include creation, development and delivery of CAD toolset training course material for CAD users.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with external CAD related suppliers where required.

This role offers the opportunity to work in an exciting engineering toolset application environment to enable Designers and other engineers to utilise CAD in an effective and efficient manner. The role is highly visible and you will be working with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic business area.

This role offers the opportunity to be involved in exciting change programmes that help the company adapt to changes in technologies and learning methods.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineering - Design and Training Systems will involve:

Ensuring that training is developed and implemented in line with BAE Systems requirements.

Creating and delivering the Design Toolset training material to the agreed customer schedule. This will include Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Curriculum design. Prior knowledge and experience of Systems Approach to Training is essential.

Acting as the technical POC (point of contact) in support of day to day course activities including the development and sustainment of tailored courseware.

Providing bespoke support within the team environment on an occasional basis in support of day to day training,

Delivering multiple contracts, whilst ensuring all activities are undertaken in line with the BAE SYSTEMS Operational Framework, including compliance with all engineering and export control policies.

Your skills and qualifications:

HNC or equivalent relevant engineering discipline such as Aerospace engineering/ Aeronautical engineering / Mechanical engineering.

Essential

Proficient in the use of the CATIA V5 toolset, and experience in a PLM (product lifecycle management) system.

Have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a variety of stakeholders.

Ability to work effectively in a team

Ideally candidates would have gained experience from within an Engineering Design environment (preferably from aerospace industry),

Preferably candidates would have had experience working in a multi-disciplinary integrated product development environment influencing adjacent Airframe and Systems disciplines,
