Job Details

The UK Atomic Energy Authority have a new opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Contract Supervisor to join their team within the Site Maintenance Services Group. The team consists of circa 20 employees and are responsible for the maintenance of all buildings across the Culham site.

The Site Maintenance Group are seeking a self-motivated, organised individual with a good technical knowledge of the building services industry who can communicate well at all levels. The role of Mechanical Maintenance Contract Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day to day operation and maintenance of the mechanical building services activities on the Culham site. Maintenance services are delivered through the term contractor and a number of direct contracts.

Key accountabilities/responsibilities include:

-To manage the mechanical building services maintenance of the buildings on the Culham site, through the term contractor and a number of direct contracts, setting programme and budget constraints, directing and signing off completed works and ensuring quality and compliance.
-Ensure that maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements and in with compliance with the relevant statutory legislation, codes of practice, best practice and delivered safely and effectively.
-To provide technical support ensuring that maintenance services are provided in a safe, timely, cost effective and at an appropriate quality. It is important that due regard is paid to the requirements and priorities of the various stakeholders.
-Take responsibility for fault finding, diagnosing issues and ensuring plant and equipment faults are quickly identified and addressed.
-Provide technical expertise, decision making and direction to multi-disciplinary teams from the term contractor and direct contractors in support of UKAEA operations.
-Take full ownership of assigned work packages ensuring all technical criteria is satisfied and that work can be carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Knowledge skills and experience

Essential
-Educated to degree or HNC level in a Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or with equivalent experience.
-A minimum of five or more years relevant post qualification experience in the maintenance and operation of mechanical building services plant and equipment to meet functional, statutory and clients requirements to applicable codes and standards.
-Demonstrable knowledge of the management of internal and external stakeholders at different levels.
-Working knowledge and understanding of current construction legislation and its application, with demonstrable experience of safety management, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification in Health and Safety.

Desirable
-Experience in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management systems.
-Experience in the administration of NEC form of contract.
-Knowledge of electrical building services systems.
-A safety related qualification.

Selection Method:

-Initial interviews will be held between the 10 and the 20 September 2019
-As part of the selection process you may be expected to complete work based simulation exercises and a personality profile either online or onsite.
