About the roles

Here at Babcock International, due to extensive growth, we’re looking to recruit numerous Weapons/Combat Systems Engineers at all levels from Engineer, Senior, Principal and Chief to Engineering Management.  

Positions are available working within numerous contracts and projects all falling under the Babcock Naval Marine Division. This business unit provides engineering management and technical support services to enable the delivery of the company’s key contracted outputs to the MoD, essentially to deliver available and capable platforms for the Royal Navy. 

You will be engaged in the delivery of our existing and evolving business, which is focused on delivering the right outputs, to enable our customer to realise their desired outcomes and support the development of effective working relationships with other UK Combat System industry players within the Combat Systems Enterprise.

 

What do I need to do the roles?

 You’ll have a background in Naval Architecture, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related backgrounds, be an effective problem solver, being able to balance theoretical assessments with pragmatic solutions.

Ideally we would also like you to have the following (although not required as development will be provided):

  • A degree in a relevant engineering based discipline or HND, Foundation Degree with relevant experience.
  • Chartered Engineer status or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with relevant experience and a member of relevant professional engineering body for the Senior positions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and practical experience of Maritime Mission/Combat Systems and MoD working practices is desirable.
