The Opportunity
  • We are looking for a highly capable, adaptable and inquisitive Software Team Lead to help us develop virtualised solutions for and integrate software on the next generation of advanced weapon systems.MBDA produce some of the most advanced missile systems in the world.
     
    What are we looking for?
  • You will have significant previous experience with virtualisation technology
  • You will demonstrate in depth knowledge of complex system software integration
  • You will have a good degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering combined with significant experience in the development of software for COTS hardware.
  • You will favour a collaborative, open approach to development and have the ability to work well in a team, and maintain momentum during development.The software that you develop will be used across multiple products at several sites, so strong communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of continuous software integration practices.
     
    The Role
  • This is a team leader role; with a hands on development and delivery aspect.
  • You will be leading the virtualisation of application software for development, integration and testing environments.
  • You will also be supporting the development of the future software integration pipeline for both virtual and host environments.
  • This is balanced role, which combines both technical management and hands-on experience with virtual machines and continuous integration.
  • You will be predominantly utilising VMware ESXi and Workstation hypervisors for virtualisation

  • As part of a highly motivated and successful team, you’ll be delivering against a challenging schedule.
  • The virtualisation team will be delivering to the internal FLAADS Land software development team.
  • The integration team will be delivering FLAADS Land system as part of the British Army’s Sky Sabre air defense architecture.
