Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate in Engineering Better Care
A position exists, for a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate in the Department of Engineering, to help establish a Centre for Engineering Better Care.
The post holder will be located in Central Cambridge Engineering Department and Clifford Allbutt Building, Hills Road, CB2 0QQ, UK.
The key responsibilities and duties are networking, project and training support and centre management.
The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are: Having a PhD in a related area, e.g.: general, biomedical or clinical engineering, or physics. Alternatively, having an equivalent high level of industrial /research experience. It is essential to have high level of technical knowledge in relevant engineering areas, experience of working in an interdisciplinary field, proven ability to develop and manage technical research projects, to have publications relevant to healthcare, having experience of laboratory management and of developing strategy. Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people and organisations on all levels as part of a team with the Centre Manager. Ability to communicate with various audiences, ability and experience of teaching in workshops and one-to-one environments and facilitate workshop discussions. Being adaptable and having flexible attitude to communications, pro-active networking skills and enthusiasm for building teams and training. Desirable attributes include understanding of the healthcare system and how engineering innovations and quality improvement can be implemented, and appreciate the design process applied to healthcare, and have experience in teaching and training including workshops.
Salary Ranges: Research Associate: £32,236 - £39,609; Senior Research Associate: £40,792 - £51,630
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2021 in the first instance.
