Senior Civil and Structural Engineer

Would you like to play a key role in the Real Estate Solutions (RES) Programmes Engineering team? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer at our site in Preston.

 

 

As a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer, you will be assisting and leading the preparation of a range of documents and concept design solutions for projects in support of land, sea, and air operations, training facilities, and production & maintenance facilities throughout the UK and Middle East.

 

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a high performing team to deliver construction / FM projects to ensure the correct Engineering support is applied through the project lifecycle.

 

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer will involve:

 

Reports to the RES Programmes Principal Civil & Structural Engineer.

 

Prepare concept designs and options studies that will form the basis of further development work

 

Carry out site and condition surveys of existing buildings and write up survey reports

 

Carry out technical reviews of contractor's design drawings and documents for accuracy and compliance with project standards and concept documents

 

Manage own workload under minimal supervision to meet project deadlines

 

Participate in design reviews as required and attend engineering and project meetings: manage actions arising as required

 

Contribute to the Engineering Lifecycle (ELC) process, Risk Management, Safety, Health & the Environment (SHE), Product Safety and wider project issues as directed


Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Degree Qualified in Civil or Structural discipline or equivalent qualification/experience

 

 

Demonstrable experience in the design and construction of infrastructure projects

 

Experience of discipline specific standards and Codes of Practice relating to design, installation and maintenance

 

Competence in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project is essential

Desirable:

Capability in the use of AutoCAD and/or Revit

Previous experience of working in the defence sector on UK MoD or Saudi Air Force sites

 

 

Experienced at leading and managing multi-discipline project teams

 

NEBOSH or other industry recognised safety qualification is desirable

 

Chartered Engineer ECUK Status or willing to work towards

Salary: £43,000+
