As a RF or Electronic Engineer in Dstl you could be working on one of a hundred different projects. 

In all of these you’ll be applying your knowledge in innovative and creative ways to solve a range of complex problems. That means you’ll need to be able to work collaboratively with people at different levels and from a range of disciplines. In our senior roles this means motivating, leading and supporting colleagues through a variety of research and development projects. And it means you’ll have the confidence to deal with customers, suppliers and peers.

Using your expertise, you’ll apply your technical and scientific skills to one of the following groups:

  • Maritime Countermeasures
  • Electronic Countermeasures
  • Sensing and Detection
  • Communications and Network Engineering
  • Systems Engineering

These groups span our 5 Science and Technology Divisions, so you could be based at Dstl Porton Down, Portsdown West or Fort Halstead.  There will also be the opportunity to work with industry, potentially internationally, and on trials in remote locations.

You’ll have a degree or advanced professional qualification in Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, System Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Architecture, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or relevant experience.
