MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver For A More Secure Tomorrow


The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen within our Bristol based Product Assurance Software Quality team for an engineer to further develop their quality assurance skills.
Working on a diverse range of programmes, supporting project activities within the UK Engineering Directorate to help ensure that MBDA’s hi-tech weapon systems are developed to the required level of quality.

•You have an understanding and background in software development and quality assurance, within a process-based design and development environment. We are looking for people from a diverse range of backgrounds and industries.
•You have knowledge of systems and software processes including national and international standards and assurance requirements.
•You will have the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across all programmes
•You have a collaborative but objective approach
•You communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
•You remain calm under pressure and cope well with unexpected changes
•You can work independently as part of a functional and integrated team
•You can grasp the essentials of a project, process, plan or problem but still work the detail
•You will ideally have an Engineering Degree, or equivalent, with an understanding of new and appropriate technologies.

The Role
•Provide Quality Assurance across both programmes and functional activities of the Engineering Directorate assuring activities comply with BMS process requirements and contractual standards.
•Planning and assessing Product Assurance Quality activities (System, Software and Integration Quality Assurance)
•Proactively working with the projects and functions to improve MBDA’s processes
•To develop, produce, certify and deliver products more effectively.
•Identify and mitigate risks and issues/problems associated with process application, effectiveness and compliance.
•Lead regular Project Quality Assessments and provide input to monthly reports.
•Develop and implement appropriate action plans with the project.
• Experience or knowledge of DOORS, RTC, Rhapsody, MATLAB/Simulink would be beneficial though not essential.

• Product Assurance Software Quality are specialists within a wider quality and technical assurance community and support engineers and managers across several Technical functional domains
•We are part of the UK based Product Assurance function, based in Stevenage and Bristol, working closely with our French and Italian counterparts. Our role is to provide independent software and systems quality assurance at all stages of development, from initial concept to final qualification. This particular role will be Bristol based but travel to other UK sites is likely and on occasion may include some travel to mainland Europe.
              
Please Note: MBDA UK requires all employees to achieve and maintain SC security clearance or above without restrictions that will inhibit the individual’s ability to fulfil the requirements of the role. Your eligibility for the appropriate level of security clearance may be discussed with you during the recruitment process. Any existing clearance holders may be able to transfer clearance (subject to approval).
