The Opportunity

A world leader in missiles and missile systems, MBDA is a multi-national group, employing 10,000 employees across Europe.  With our continuing development in the domestic and international markets, a new opportunity has arisen within our Customer Support business area, for a Technical Services Manager to ensure delivery of serviceable equipment at our primary supplier’s Gosport facility for Munition storage, maintenance and repair.
 
What are we looking for?
  • A broad based engineering background, preferably degree level qualified in a technical discipline, with substantial knowledge and experience of Complex Munitions
  • Strong understanding in the application of the UK MoD’s technical and logistics systems
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders across the business
  • Prioritisation and ability to deal with multiple issues on a regular basis
  • Strategic planning ofsupport work, ensuringequipment availability requirements are always met
  • The ability to embed in a customer owned environment for the long term while maintaining your MBDA identity
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills

    The Role
  • Develop, implement and own the maintenance activity for all MBDA DM Gosport equipment processing, generating plans inconjunction with the supplier, consistent with satisfying the in-service needs as defined by MBDA’s customer in the contracted requirements.
  • Embed within the DM Gosport facility and become the primary point of contact for day to day interaction for in-service munitions, launchers and associated Support and Test Equipment between DM Gosport and MBDA
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure delivery of Customer Satisfaction.
  • Deliver programmatic, logistics, and technical aspects associated with delivery of equipment storage and processing, to ensure they are progressed in a timely and controlled manner.
  • Resolve any issue impacting on DM Gosports ability to store, handle and process equipment in an expeditious manner.
  • Ensure the Support Strategy of the equipment is achievable at DM Gosport and reflected in the long term plans for the facility.
  • Periodically review all processing instructions, equipment sparing recommendations , maintenance schedules etc, to pre-empt and take appropiate action to mitigate the risk of problems arising.
  • Ensure that product technical change is understood, together with the impact on the ability to support and maintain and actions taken to address any negative impact.
  • For those munitions that are not yet in Service,support Approval to Process related activity and lead the resolution of all MBDA technical actions.
