Senior Technical Management Engineer

Would you like to play a key role in our Typhoon Weapon Systems Engineering Team, supporting both internal and external customers from the initial contract proposal through to delivery and operation? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Technical Management Engineer at our site in Warton.

As a Senior Technical Management Engineer, you will be fulfilling the Requirements Management area of the Team with support to the Export Qualification, Certification Team as required.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain an insight into the Typhoon project with the chance to be involved in the delivery of large scale Weapon System upgrades such as the Integration of the Brimstone 3a missile, E Scan Radar, Avionic & Capability upgrades. Further to this the team is also involved in the Acceptance of Export Aircraft & Major units and delivers Weapon System Qualification of Export Products.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Technical Management Engineer will involve:

Coordinating, Managing and Maintaining of contractual requirements within the Requirements Management toolset (DOORS)

Liaising with all Stakeholders to ensure that requirements are understood; are accurate and agreed

Ensuring the management of requirements in the most cost-effective manner

Providing guidance on the use of the requirements management tool to project staff, as required

Ensuring data and metrics are updated and available to support various internal meetings, technical reviews and presentations

Providing support to improvement activities

Providing support when necessary to any ongoing or future export campaigns or deliverables

Supporting the Qualification and Certification of the Export Typhoon Weapon System (WS-DDPs etc)

Reviewing Change Requests to determine if they affect the contractual requirements or qualification of the Weapon System and provide feedback to the Change Team

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

HNC/HND qualified or relevant engineering experience

Ability to work across all levels within the business including senior stakeholders

Manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customer

Be able to present basic explanations and logical reasoning

Understand the wider impacts on Safety, Quality, Configuration Management and Support

Desirable:

Strong understanding of requirements management would be highly desirable for this role

Experience working on aircraft requirements (civil will be considered)

You will be a self-motivated individual, with the ability to work on your own initiative. This will allow you to manage tasks and projects for months or potentially over a year.

You will also have excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both customers and key stakeholders within the business.

Location: Warton (Travel is required)

Salary: £37,654 + Dependent on Experience
